We don't get lightning and thunder very often. A large, gaping hole in my climatological history since moving away from the South. BUT on Sunday, July 9th, we had a lightning party!

The skies were dancing, and God was putting on an exceptional show! Thunder clapped and rolled, and the skies were filled with what looked like strobe lights dancing behind the clouds.
And this wasn't intermittent in nature. This entertainment went on nonstop for about 20 minutes. With never a break. Never a rest. Constant.
SUDDENLY, it dawned on me.
There was a message in this storm.
Its theme was constancy.
Never-ending!
You stay grounded and steady in that bond of trust,
constantly tuned in to the Message,
careful not to be distracted or diverted.
There is no other Message—just this one.

We don't get too much thunder and lightening here, but when we attended Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, OK we did have plenty. The night before we left OK to return to Calif, we had one of the worst storms ever. A send off I would say. God telling us, time to get back home!
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about OK weather, except that right now those folks are in the middle of some very dry times. I would say God was sending a clear message to head home when you went back to CA! :)
DeleteI'm visiting from Jennifer's blog.
ReplyDeleteThat's a neat picture. Glad you got to see such an awesome display of God's power and creativity. I really like your application here. I used to live in NW Iowa where we had lots of thunderstorms. I hated them and my husband loved them. Now we live in Northern Wisconsin and rarely have thunderstorms. My husband hates that and I love it. I actually don't mind a regular thunderstorm. It's the severe ones that scare me.
You know, Angie, I believe what they say is true: Opposites do attract! So glad you came by. :)
