Light Out of Darkness

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”
made his light shine in our hearts to give us
the light of the knowledge of God’s glory
displayed in the face of Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:6 (TNIV)

Lightly, we say, "There's a light at the end of the tunnel."

And someone jokingly adds, "Hope it's not the train."

Reading the verse above, God said, "Let light shine out of darkness."  Until we came to know God's Son, Jesus Christ, our hearts were dark.  At that paramount moment when we saw the Light in Jesus' face, then did our hearts come out of the darkness and begin to reside in the Light.

What a joyous moment indeed!

  2. One of my favorite "Light" understandings is that it just takes a small tiny "dot" of light, and darkness becomes the loser. What a blessing to know in our dark family issues and worldly struggles. I circle that word in my Bible... hundreds of them. Always catches my attention. Always reminds me of Who is in charge eternally.

  7. Sherrey, "he light at the end of the tunnel" is the truest metaphor. We are in the darkest tunnel until we meet the Light head on and are embraced by Him, and baptized in Him, who is pure Light.
    Such a message, friend!

    2. Debra, I knew you meant for a "T" to be in there, and just smiled thinking of how often I type too fast. :) Thanks for stopping by and leaving such encouragement for my writing and thoughts.

  8. Nice to meet ya! I'm lovin' this Sunday Community.

It's amazing that when light comes into (the room, our hearts, our minds) the darkness flees. It has to.
