Time for Resting or Reaping?

Let us not become weary in doing good,
for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Ever sit down at the computer and think to yourself,

"Why am I writing this post?  Who's going to read it?  And if they do, how will I know its impact?"

I know I do.  Usually I write a post for Sunday on Saturday.  Didn't happen yesterday, so I'm up readying for worship and trying to do this too.

Will my words be so rushed they won't make a difference?

Galatians 6:9 tells us not to "become weary in doing good."  Our sharing of our faith journeys and His Word, in my opinion, equate to "doing good."  But it's so easy to become weary of it, especially if we so no results.

But read on, for Galatians tells us more in the next few words:  "at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

So, we must press on and never give up writing about this amazing God who gave us His Son, Jesus, on the cross, not just to save us but everyone we can reach.  Keep writing, keep believing -- and perhaps one day your harvest will come in!

  2. Good thoughts - encouragement to be faithful with the things that God has called us to do, leaving the results up to Him. Good to be reminded of this ...

  3. I think I've been feeling this way over the last couple of weeks. I've been rushed to get the link up, so as to satisfy the demands of time on the East Coast. I've felt rushed and wondered if my own humanness was getting in the way. And so, I keep writing, keep plugging away, and He reminds me that I'm doing what I'm supposed to, even though it doesn't always look perfect.

    1. Barbie, I find consolation in the fact that He knows I'm human, and that's all I am, no more. And that reminder that you've so beautifully stated here is what keeps me going. Perfection is His and His alone.

  6. Yep, I have to trust Him. He so often tells me exactly what to write about and what words and photos to choose. I LOVE writing, so that part is filled with joy. The amazing part is seeing that sometimes people in very dangerous and difficult locations will read a post and it is either encouraging or planting seed. So, now this has become one of my ministry areas. Not what I expected, but definitely being productive. That is a "good thing", to say the least.

    1. He certainly takes us down a path that only He knows is right for us. We end up in places doing things we never expected. And yes, what you're doing is a good thing!
